Javed Mulani

Javed Mulani earned a Masters in Portraiture from the Sir J.J School of Arts, Mumbai in the year 2005. It is hard to take your eyes off his portraits and charcoal drawings that capture not just what is seen with the naked eye.

Portraiture is not his only medium of expression though and in his 20+ years of practice he has explored various mediums and created an astounding body of works across the length and breadth of contemporary art. His contemporary paintings use metaphors, phrases, symbols, identity and stories to make a strong statement, with a recurring symbolism through the use of animals and birds.
